Two months down Seven to go!

Here we are! We’ve arrived at 2 months already!

Actually, since we only known for 3 weeks, 2 months have gone by quickly. I’m not showing yet and I thought it would be a good time to take a before picture. I’m getting more and more used to the idea of being pregnant so it’s easier now for me to focus on life… and by life I mean school.

The weekend that marks 2 months is a busy one. I’m about to enter the first test of the year. Once you hit the first week of test, school really becomes a marathon until the end. My goal for this weekend is to get a lot of homework done and get ahead in all my classes. In addition, we have a football game and a church picnic to add to our regular weekend task!

Changes I’ve noticed
- Hormones are mean! I have several issues that can be blamed on hormones. I often get woken up in the middle of the night (well… around 4-5am) to use the restroom. This wouldn’t be a problem except I usually can’t go back to sleep. Also, that “pregnancy glow” can be related to hormones. I produce so much oil now and I have to wash my face and hair more… I’m not crazy about it, but I know my body is doing it for the baby. Another favorite, bloating! My rings have become uncomfortable to wear, but I haven’t gained any weight. I was very confused so I asked the midwife at the hospital and she said my favorite word, “Hormones!”
- My body is definitely working for two! I feel tired all the time! I have to be careful about this because lately it has been a good excuse NOT to exercise. However, I read in a book that if you exercise early in pregnancy it helps fight fatigue. I’m convinced this is what was happening the first month. When I started school I was very regular about exercising. I was still tired, but it was easier to manage. I slowed down a bit when we found out I was pregnant only because we had so many appointments and life was thrown off schedule for a bit. I’m back into a schedule and I’m very hopeful about the results… for my body, the baby and my fatigue.

Changes Steven has noticed
-In the two arguments we had recently, I’ve noticed that Fallon will burst into tears very quickly. It reminds me that she is pregnant which makes be feel bad because I know that she has to deal with a lot of extra hormones which probably caused the misunderstanding. But other than that I feel like we have been extra lovey-dovey lately and I’ve really enjoyed it.

Current Size of Baby: ½ inch long and about 1 gram

Upcoming Task for Our Little Bean:
The facial features will form and the little tail will go away. The baby will develop elbows, wrists, knees, shoulders, ankles, hands, fingers, feet, toes and hair follicles. The intestines move out of the umbilical cord and into the abdomen. The placenta begins to circulate blood from mother to baby. Male or Female organs are begin to develop. All vital organs will form and be functioning. The baby begins to swim around (however, I won’t be able to feel it yet). Heart beat is strong enough to hear.
