We found out on our anniversary and it was a great way to start the day. Steven went to work for a couple of our hours and then came home to drive me to the appointment. I had to drink a TON of water and not use the restroom for 2.5 hours. It was crazy! Steven made the comment that it felt like he was driving me to the hospital to have the baby because I got mad at him if he made me laugh or hit a bump while driving. It was painful... I don't know that it was the MOST painful thing I've done, but it definitely wasn't comfortable!
Once we there and after some measurements I was allowed to use the restroom. After that I really enjoyed the appointment. We got a DVD but I can't figure out how to upload it. I took some snap shots on the computer while I watched the video and thus the pictures below.
To start things off... if you haven't heard... and you probably have... the baby is a BOY! His name is going to be John Steven Swindell. And we absolutely can't wait to meet him. He wasn't very bashful and the lady conducting the ultrasound kept on saying, "Pretty convincing."

Hi Fallon, just saw your post on my blog...how in the world did you find me???
ReplyDeleteHey, have you ever considered using a midwife? It's an awesome experience. I have a great one I can reccomend if you ever decide to go that route. I have loved it way better than my hospital birth.
Thanks for the encouragement about the cloth diapers. and sorry to be so random here in my post.
blessings,
ann
I think my Mom found you some how... maybe through Frances or Sarah.
ReplyDeleteWe like the idea of using a midwife a lot, but Steven really wants the safety of the hospital for this first kiddo. We are planning on taking Bradley classes in February and hope to do a lot of the laboring at home. If there are no complications we plan on only being in the hospitial for a couple of hours. We live 15 minutes away from the hospital.
We need lot of prayers that there aren't complications and that I have strength to not accept medication during labor. I'm nervous and excited... but I have a couple of friends who have done it this way and have had success.
I would love to talk more about your birth experiences... email me... fallonstar@gmail.com
